OUR BELIEFS

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

  1. We believe in the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:15,16).

  2. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, His vicarious, atoning death upon the cross, His physical resurrection, ascension and His second coming (Isaiah 7:14; Romans 8:34; Acts 1:10; John 14:2, 3; Acts 1:11).

  3. We believe in salvation by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Romans 5:8,9).

  4. We believe in water baptism by immersion conditioned by an act of genuine repentance (Luke 3:3; Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 7:10).

  5. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:44-48; 10: 8,9) and the present-day ministry of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 1:4-8; 14:1).

  6.  We believe in the divine healing provided through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16,17).

  7. We believe in the sanctifying and keeping power of the Holy Spirit who enables us to live a holy life (I Thessalonians 4:3; II Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:3-5).

  8. We believe in the ministry offices that Christ has bestowed on His church following His ascension. These have been given to equip the saints (His church) for ministry and building up the Body of Christ until we all reach the unity of the faith, the knowledge of the Son of God, to a state of maturity while pressing on toward the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:7, 8, 11-13).

  9. We believe in the commitment of each member to a continuing faithfulness to the doctrines, fellowship, prayer, and financial support of this Body (Acts 2:42-47; II Corinthians 9:6-8; Luke 11:42).

  10. We believe in the Person of the Godhead as seen in the Holy Scriptures, there are three clearly separate persons operating in perfect harmony and yet clearly functioning in the distinct roles of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (II Samuel 23:2-3, Isaiah 48:16; 63:7-10, Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19, John 10:28, 29; 16:23, 24; Romans 8:34; Ephesians 4:30; II Corinthians 13:14).

  11. We believe in church discipline to be carried out in strict accordance with the biblical mandates under the direction of the Holy Spirit in love and mercy with a view toward the restoration of the offender (Matthew 18: 15-20; Galatians 6:1; Revelation 3:19; Hebrews 12:5-11).

  12. We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin (Gen. 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14, 17, 22:19; Lev. 18:22-23, 20:13, 15-16; Matt. 19:4-6, 9; Rom. 1:18-31; I Cor. 6:9-10, 15-20; I Tim. 1:8-11; Jude 7). We believe that God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one's birth gender is immoral and therefore sin (Gen. 1:27; Deut. 22:5).

The purpose of Redeemer Temple is to carry out the mandate set forth in the New Testament by our Lord Jesus Christ for His church. This will be fulfilled through four primary functions:

  1.  Evangelize (Matthew 10:7,8; 28:19; II Timothy 4:5

  2. The on-going instruction of those evangelized for Christ, as well as others whom the Holy Spirit may lead to become a part of the expression of the Body of Christ (Matthew 18:20; Colossians 1:25-29)

  3. Equipping the Body to minister to one another (Ephesians 4:11-16)

  4. The releasing of those into ministry that God has called out for His purposes (Acts 13:2-3).

  5. The corporate goal of this fellowship will be to infiltrate and permeate the entirety of society with the righteous and holy standards of Christ's kingdom according to our Lord's directive (Matthew 5:13-16).

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and fully trustworthy guide for all spiritual truth.

We believe that there is one God, who has revealed Himself in three distinct personalities, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is God and became a man at the time of His incarnation, fully identifying with humanity.

We believe he lived an absolutely sinless life and suffered and died on the cross for our sins.

We believe He arose from the dead after three days, vindicating His Deity, setting Christianity apart and exclusively above all other religions. His next major event and hope of every believer is Christ's second coming.

We believe every individual is offered the gift of eternal life by receiving the completed redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross for sin.

We believe coming by way of the cross is the only way to come into fellowship with God for eternity and enjoy godly and wholesome relationships with others.

We believe mankind receives the gift of eternal life by confessing and turning away from his sins.

We believe in the personal and experiential ministry of the Holy Spirit who empowers us for Christian service, showing us when we sin, helping us to turn from sin, and enabling us to live a godly life.

We believe the Church is the creation of the Lord Jesus Christ and He is both its founding head and sustainer of the body.

We believe one day all people will stand before God in final judgment to determine their eternal destiny - Heaven or hell.
